ABOUT
Adriana Gascoigne is an American technology executive and activist, best known as the founder and former CEO of Girls in Tech, a global non-profit organization dedicated to empowering, educating, and mentoring women in the technology industry. Established in 2007, Girls in Tech has expanded to 57 chapters worldwide, fostering a community of over 80,000 members across 42 countries. Gascoigne is also the author of Tech Boss Lady: How To Start-Up, Disrupt, And Thrive As A Female Founder and serves on the board of the Women and Public Policy Program at Harvard Kennedy School. She is currently the Executive Director of The URL Collective, a multi-platform network for Black and Brown news media organizations.
BEFORE RICHES
Prior to founding Girls in Tech, Adriana Gascoigne held various executive roles in the technology sector. She served as Vice President of Product Marketing for RxMatch, Chief Marketing Officer for QwikCart, Vice President of Digital for Ogilvy & Mather, and Vice President of Marketing for SecondMarket. These positions provided her with extensive experience in product marketing, digital strategy, and leadership within the tech industry.
HOW SHE MADE 1st MILLION
In 2007, while working at a Silicon Valley startup, Adriana Gascoigne noticed she was the only woman among nearly 50 employees. This realization inspired her to create Girls in Tech, aiming to provide a support network and resources for women pursuing careers in technology. Under her leadership, the organization has grown significantly, advocating for diversity and inclusion in STEM fields and offering programs tailored to address the unique needs of its global chapters.
