Prior to joining Zoox, Aicha Evans had an extensive career in the technology sector. She held engineering management positions at companies such as Rockwell Semiconductor, Conexant, and Skyworks Solutions. In 2006, Evans joined Intel Corporation, where she spent 12 years in various leadership roles. She specialized in wireless engineering projects involving technologies like Bluetooth, Wi-Fi, and 5G. In 2017, she was promoted to Chief Strategy Officer, responsible for driving Intel's transformation from a PC-centric to a data-centric company.

In February 2019, Aicha Evans became the CEO of Zoox, marking a significant milestone as the first Senegalese-American female CEO of an autonomous vehicle technology company. She led the company through its acquisition by Amazon in June 2020 for $1.3 billion. Under her leadership, Zoox unveiled a custom-built, fully autonomous, electric vehicle designed for urban mobility, aiming to redefine the future of transportation in dense urban environments.
