Danielle Weisberg is an American entrepreneur and co-founder of theSkimm, a media company launched in 2012 that provides a daily newsletter summarizing top news stories for its subscribers. Born and raised in Chicago, Weisberg developed a passion for news early on. She graduated from Tufts University in 2008 with degrees in American Studies and English. Recognizing a gap in the market for concise news tailored to young professionals, Danielle Weisberg and Carly Zakin co-founded theSkimm in 2012. Starting from their apartment, they created a daily newsletter that simplifies complex news topics. Their innovative approach resonated with a broad audience, rapidly growing their subscriber base. Through strategic partnerships, funding rounds, and diversification into podcasts and apps, theSkimm expanded its offerings. This growth attracted significant investments and led to the company's acquisition by Ziff Davis in March 2025, solidifying Weisberg's success in the media industry.
