Julia Hartz is an American entrepreneur, investor, and the co-founder and CEO of Eventbrite, a global ticketing and event technology platform. Born on November 20, 1979, in Santa Cruz, California, she has been instrumental in shaping the live events industry by providing accessible tools for event creation, promotion, and ticket sales. Hartz holds a Bachelor of Arts in Telecommunication from Pepperdine University. She currently resides in San Francisco, USA.

Prior to venturing into entrepreneurship, Julia Hartz built a solid foundation in the media and entertainment industry. After graduating from Pepperdine University in 2001, she began her career as a development executive at MTV, where she contributed to the production of the popular television series "Jackass" from 2001 to 2003. This role allowed her to gain valuable experience in content development and audience engagement. Following her tenure at MTV, Hartz joined FX Networks from 2003 to 2005, overseeing acclaimed shows such as "The Shield," "Rescue Me," "Nip/Tuck," and "30 Days." These positions honed her skills in managing creative projects and understanding the dynamics of the entertainment industry, setting the stage for her future entrepreneurial endeavors.​

In 2006, Julia Hartz co-founded Eventbrite alongside her then-fiancé, Kevin Hartz, and Renaud Visage. The platform provided accessible tools for creating, promoting, and selling tickets to events, ranging from small community gatherings to large-scale festivals.
