Kimberly Bryant is an African American electrical engineer and entrepreneur, best known for founding Black Girls CODE in 2011, a nonprofit dedicated to introducing young girls of color to technology and computer programming. Prior to this, she held technical leadership roles at companies such as Genentech, Merck, and Pfizer. Currently, Bryant serves as an angel investor at You.com, a search engine startup. Her commitment to diversifying the tech industry has earned her numerous accolades, including being named a White House Champion of Change for Tech Inclusion in 2013 and receiving Smithsonian Magazine's American Ingenuity Award for Social Progress in 2014.

Before establishing Black Girls CODE, Kimberly Bryant built a distinguished career in the pharmaceutical and biotech industries. She held engineering and managerial positions at leading companies, including Genentech, Merck, and Pfizer, where she focused on technical leadership and product development. Her work in these roles provided her with extensive experience in engineering and biotechnology, laying the foundation for her future endeavors in promoting diversity within the tech industry.

In 2011, motivated by her daughter's interest in computer programming and the noticeable lack of diversity in available programs, Kimberly Bryant founded Black Girls CODE. The organization aims to provide young girls of color with opportunities to learn in-demand digital skills, thereby increasing representation in the technology sector. Under Bryant's leadership, Black Girls CODE has grown into a global movement, introducing over 100,000 girls to technology and entrepreneurship. Her efforts have significantly contributed to addressing the diversity gap in tech and empowering a new generation of innovators.
