Lena Waithe is an American actress, producer, and screenwriter renowned for her impactful storytelling that often explores themes of identity, race, and sexuality. She made history by becoming the first Black woman to win the Primetime Emmy Award for Outstanding Writing for a Comedy Series for the "Thanksgiving" episode of Master of None, which was inspired by her own experience of coming out to her mother.
