BEFORE RICHES
Prior to founding Block Party, Tracy Chou amassed extensive experience in the tech industry. After completing her studies, she joined Quora as the company's fourth employee, contributing significantly to the platform's early development. In October 2011, Chou transitioned to Pinterest, becoming one of its first 15 employees and playing a pivotal role in scaling the platform. During her tenure at Pinterest, she became a prominent advocate for diversity in tech, publishing a 2013 Medium post titled "Where are the numbers?" that highlighted the underrepresentation of women in engineering roles and called for greater transparency in workforce diversity data. HOW SHE MADE 1st MILLION
In 2018, leveraging her technical expertise and personal experiences with online harassment, Tracy Chou founded Block Party, a platform designed to empower individuals to control their online interactions and combat abuse. The platform officially launched in early 2021, initially focusing on filtering harassment on Twitter. In September 2022, Block Party secured $4.8 million in seed funding, enabling the company to expand its services to other social media platforms.
